2. Unthread bolt and remove battery negative cable (black)
from battery negative (-) terminal.
3. Unthread bolt and remove battery positive cable (red)
from battery positive (+) terminal.
4. Using a T40 TORX drive head, loosen bolt to move lip of
hold-down clamp off edge of battery. Remove battery
from battery box.
5. Remove nut from left side ground post in front of battery
box. Remove internal tooth ring terminal (with black
shrink tube). See Figure 8-14.
6. Remove Keps nut from silver post of 40 amp circuit
breaker. Remove ring terminal (with yellow shrink tube).
7. Standing on right side of vehicle, release cable conduit
from clip at front of battery box.
8. Cut three cable straps at locations shown in illustration
at bottom of Figure 8-16.
9. Open two cable clips on T-studs at top of lower frame
tube. Free voltage regulator cable conduit from cable
clips.
